Sub: Observing APAY YMCA Green Day, June 5, 2011
Dear Friends,
World Environment Day is universally observed as an UN-designated observance on June 5 and this year the Asia & Pacific Alliance of YMCAs (APAY) desires that this day be observed as YMCA Green Day. We exhort the YMCA community across the length and breadth of India to throw their weight behind this unique initiative of APAY this year. We are enclosing the message from APAY Secretary-General, Mr. Kohei Yamada, which is self-explanatory.
The Environment Day this year carries the slogan Nature at our service. Incidentally, this year is also the UN-designated International Year of Forest which carries the theme, Forests for people.
Wishing you the very best in your venture.
